Photography, I feel, is the way that I can truly express myself. Whether I am happy or sad I feel that my emotions are reflected in any given photograph that I may take. I mostly make photographs for myself and there is no particular subject that I tend to focus on.
I have been interested in Photography for as long as I can remember. My grandfather was always a big influence when it came to my photography and aside from my interest in it, he was my main drive and was somewhat of a mentor in the last few years of his life. He is the one who passed the ability down to me and I am very grateful. He was an avid amateur photographer who took photos as a hobby and to document daily life. He took a lot of landscape and nature photos on he and my grandmother's cross country camping trips.
In addition to nature, he also did our personal family photos and my brother, cousin and myself were often the subjects. He did a lot of slides and I remember watching them when I was younger and still enjoy gathering around the projector to look at them.
I started getting interested in Photography in 2005 and took some online classes. I was fortunate enough to be able to let my grandfather see me following in his footsteps before he passed on December 16, 2007. He gave me quite a collection of antiques, some cameras I still use on occasion, and also great advice that I will cherish. I keep his camera strap that my grandmother gave me on my camera as a reminder that he is always with me.
My photography started as mostly a hobby but I got into Portraiture when I had the pleasure of taking my cousin's senior portraits. I have since done several weddings and many different portrait sessions. I attended Shawnee State University, majoring in Fine Arts of Photography in 2010.
I have come to love simply being in the outdoors and am almost never without a camera, whether I am carrying my phone (some of the phones out there take surprisingly good photos!), point and shoot or an SLR of some kind. The locations of my photographs range from remote wilderness areas to a more urban setting of alleyways, corroding bridges and weathered doors.
Seeing and being aware of my surroundings is the underlying focus of my photography. I enjoy the challenge that photography holds and have learned that it's mostly all about timing. I have found that photography can require a lot of planning and for this reason I try to make sure the image in the viewfinder is what I am trying to achieve before clicking the shutter.
My passion is photographing people in the many different moments of their lives and capturing those moments that can be cherished for lifetimes to come. I look forward to working with you!
My name is Tabitha, everyone calls me Tabby. I am Freelance Photographer who enjoys Graphic Design as well so I started this side business in 2011 (branched off of my photography business) to do just that. I love being creative and like a good challenge
After a rough divorce, I started dating my high school sweetheart, Davey, again in 2016 (we have known each other for 25 years!). We were engaged in May 2022 when he proposed after a New Kids on the Block Concert! We were married on September 23, 2023. We have a beautiful son, Oliver Wyatt.
Aside from Designing and Photography, I enjoy helping my husband do video production for Combat Sports Now - we travel, doing Pay-Per-View streaming/On Demand for combat sports(MMA, Boxing, Etc.) events. In my down time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to church (I am the song leader at my church), gaming, listening to podcasts, watching tv/movies - especially if it's True Crime!
I look forward to working with you to provide you with memories that will last a lifetime!
