Q: Do you have a studio
A: Currently, no. I am what you would consider a freelance photographer but would love to open a studio someday.
Q: Where are photos taken?
A: I prefer to take photos outdoors in natural lighting and I currently do all of my work on location so the possibilities are endless.
At our consultation(whether it be in person or over the phone) we will discuss different options. There are many different locations in Scioto County that offer beautiful backdrops for photos. I have taken photos at Shawnee State Forest(Lakeside, The Lodge, Trails, Boat Dock, etc), River Front, in front of Portsmouth Floodwall Murals, Brick Alleyways, etc. There are a lot of nice locations even in Downtown Portsmouth including lots of parks and architecture. I’m always searching for new, unique locations so if you have an idea, let me know about it!
Q: I don't live in Scioto County, will you come to me?
A: Traveling is possible for me, though it depends on how far I have to travel. Anything over 30 miles from Portsmouth, Ohio will require a small fee. Please be sure to mention your location.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear something that you feel comfortable in! It's important for you to be comfortable because if you aren't, that's going to show through in your photos.
Q: Can I print the images?
A: Yes, with the purchase of digital negatives (or my digital negative only package)on USB Flash Drive or Download Plan, there is a print release included. I do however strongly recommend that you do NOT print your photos at Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreen's, etc. They will likely turn out dark, have odd color casts and will not be as sharp. You can either have prints made through me(sometimes at a much more reasonable cost) or I can recommend you to a decent lab.
Q: How long does it usually take to see my photos?
A: Sneak peeks will be posted to social media(facebook, instagram, twitter, etc.) and are typically available after a day or two, depending on the amount of adjusting. Proof sheet with entire session will be emailed after 2 weeks for print selection. Please allow 2-4 additional weeks for entire delivery of prints and any digital negatives purchased.
Q: Do all sessions get posted online?
A: Yes, I post photos on my social media accounts(Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) unless you prefer that I don't. You must tell me if you don't want your images posted.
Q: How do I book/pay for a session?
A: You can book a session by calling or emailing me. 10% of session cost is due at the time of date lock-in. The remaining balance is due before photos can be picked up/received.
Q: What are your payment methods?
A: I accept Cash, Check, Facebook Pay, Venmo or Paypal.
Q: What do we do if the weather is bad?
A: Let’s face it, Mother Nature is not always kind to us and living in Ohio, the weather is definitely not predictable from one day to the next. In the occasion that there is bad weather, we can simply reschedule at a later date and there will be no charge.
Q: What if I can’t make it to my session?
A: Life, like weather, can be unpredictable, so if you need to cancel/postpone, I understand. I can't, however, promise that I will be able to reschedule for a close date, but will try my best to work around your schedule. If you need to cancel/postpone your session, you need to let me know at least a day in advance. If you cancel and do not reschedule, your down payment is non refundable.
